Granted, due to my stints in Germany and Sri Lanka I have largely been out of touch with basketball this season, in fact I have only watched a handful of games and most of them have been play off games. BUT, I do have one significant take away from the first game of the Western Conference finals: it was stupid to let Derek Fisher go.

Fisher showed his worth in this game, despite the Thunder losing. With his 16 odd points, outscoring Harden, he showed that he is more than just age. You cannot teach clutch. You cannot teach self assurance.

By the by, whats the deal with the Thunder’s facial hair situation? Westbrook seems to be the only starter that is spending more time practicing than grooming…
