Well, we have less than a week before election day, and I still have a few minor parties interviews up my sleeve. This time we have the Australian HEMP Party.

The push for drug policy reform is starting to take off all around the world, with several European countries already at various stages of decriminalization and legalization, and the Obama recently announcing they would “allow” Colorado and Washington to legalize marijuana. As you can imagine, the main aim of the HEMP Party and their infamous inflatable joint, is for Australia to follow suite.

Indeed, several Australian states have recently held inquiries into the medicinal use of marijuana, and the Australian Capital Territory and South Australia long ago introduced relatively lenient policies. But the HEMP Party wants to go further, with complete legalization for medical, recreational, and industrial use. I spoke with Michael Balderstone, President of the Australian HEMP Party:
