While I am not entirely convinced that just changing the colour of walls can have so drastic an impact on the citizens of a city, the overall point made by Edi Rama is a good one. I read a lot of Tweets and blogs, and speak to a lot of people who are pessimistic about our capability, and especially the capability of our institutions, to change. But change has been an ever present characteristic of our societies. Just look at how different our societies are from those a hundred years ago. And it is through the culmination process of small changes, like painting a city bright colours, that that change is both possible and profound. This is a good TED talk.
